As a game editor, you are responsible for reporting on MMORPGs at MeinMMO. You know which games made the genre great, how the beginnings of MMOs were, and which new MMORPGs all genre fans are currently eagerly waiting for.
MeinMMO is one of the largest gaming websites in Germany with over 3 million unique users, who could soon read your articles on MMORPGs. Online role-playing games are one of the most important pillars of MeinMMO. They are firmly embedded in the DNA, which is why MeinMMO is looking for a full-time employee just for this genre.
What you can look forward to
- You will mainly deal with video games and the gaming scene, with a particular focus on new and old online role-playing games
- In close collaboration with the editorial board, you will help plan the editorial reporting
- You will research, write, and edit articles such as news, columns, and conduct interviews
- A special focus will be on retro articles about MMORPGs; you will answer questions like: In which MMORPG was there a real economist who monitored and regulated the virtual economy of the game? Which MMORPG had its first 1 million subscribers?
- We provide you with analytical tools to optimize your articles according to the latest SEO and web publishing insights
- We encourage you to provide early feedback on our workflows and actively shape them
- You can actively shape our MMORPG reporting (We look forward to your ideas and wishes)
- Practical experience in journalistic work for the web with a focus on games
- If desired, there is the possibility to be involved in video or podcast formats (However, the focus is on writing articles)

- You are a passionate gamer and enjoy discovering new games and following discussions about games
- You have an overview of the largest MMORPGs of the past like Ultima Online or Everquest, you are aware of the currently relevant MMORPGs like WoW, Final Fantasy XIV, or The Elder Scrolls Online, and you are informed about the MMORPGs of the future like Blue Protocol or Throne and Liberty
- You have been playing MMORPGs for years and have a good understanding of the area
- In doing so, you have developed an understanding of the social dynamics and stories that make MMORPGs a special genre
- Complex topics do not intimidate you, and you enjoy delving into and understanding them
- You approach others openly and have no problem contacting someone for an interview or a statement
- You have a good sense of language, very good German skills, and very good English skills (You should be able to conduct interviews in English)
- You enjoy a diverse job, as there is no day like the other in web journalism – you never know when the next breaking news will come
- Practical experience in the media sector is an advantage (be it a fan site, a blog, social media, Twitch, or a professional website)
