Who we are looking for: You should be well-versed in gaming, especially online gaming. You should be interested in trends in the industry, feel comfortable in gaming communities, and be willing to immerse yourself in new subfields of gaming.
This is what we are looking for:
- you are always aware of what the gaming bubble on Twitter, Twitch, and Reddit is currently talking about
- you are good at explaining things to others. Why is GTA 5 Online the biggest game on Twitch again after 8 years? Why is Escape from Tarkov trending every six months? Why the hell is Among Us suddenly dominating the gaming world?
- you are interested in what particularly moves the German community. You know who the biggest German streamers and YouTubers in the gaming field are
- you are familiar with Reddit, Twitter, and ResetEra to keep informed and hear what the community is concerned about
- you are ready to reflect on criticism of your work, accept it, and develop your writing further
- it is an advantage if you have already gained experience: a personal blog, a streaming channel, or work for another website could fall under this. However, this is not a requirement for the position.
- you enjoy writing and have an interest in journalistic work
- you have no qualms about topics that might seem unusual at first glance: You are just as confident writing an article about “Ikea shows new gaming furniture” as you are about the fact that 70% of women online conceal their gender
- you are curious about new games and new topics

This is the job
You will be part of our editorial team and help shape our reporting. We are grateful for suggestions and input on how we can further improve our coverage of online gaming and gaming communities. It is important to us that the readers come first for you, and you think about which articles are really interesting and important for our community.
This time we are not looking for someone for a fixed game, but someone who can write about different games or gaming topics.
The scope of work:
- You will write articles in the broad field of “gaming” (news, analyses, opinions, community interviews)
- You will independently search for exciting topics that you will implement as articles. You will receive support from the editorial team
- You will engage with analysis tools like Google Trends to see what the gaming community is currently really interested in. You do not need any prior knowledge here. This knowledge can be imparted to you by the editorial team
- You will coordinate with the editorial team on which articles you will write
- You will take on assignments from the editorial team
- You will receive feedback on your articles from the editorial team and implement it accordingly
- You can optionally participate in workshops that we offer in the field of online and gaming journalism
Who we are
MeinMMO was founded in September 2013. Since March 2016, we have been part of Webedia Gaming. We maintain an independent editorial team, most of whom work from their home offices. We draw on resources at our headquarters in Munich, where the editorial team of GameStar is also located. Both GameStar and MeinMMO and GamePro are part of the Webedia Gaming GmbH.
By now, MeinMMO reaches over 3 million unique users per month, with a record of 3.36 million in January 2021 according to AGOF. This has established the site as one of the largest German gaming websites in just a few years.
The focus of MeinMMO is on popular service games that are developed over the years and played together online. These include titles such as Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty: Mobile, World of Warcraft, Lost Ark, New World, Pokémon GO, GTA Online, Fortnite, or FIFA 21.
