We at Mein-MMO are looking for a new writer working from home who wants to write for our site about the best gaming deals.
Who we are
Mein-MMO.de was founded in September 2013 and is now part of Webedia Gaming. We exclusively cover multiplayer online games that are continuously developed over a long period.
We are now probably the largest site for online gaming in Europe. We reach between 150,000 and 250,000 readers every day. They write about 4,000 comments a week.
Every day about 15 authors write their articles, news, and guides about online games. Curios stories are also included.
We follow the approach of closely accompanying games, becoming experts in individual games, and being close to the community.
What we expect
- We are looking for freelance writers with a lot of commitment to the profession and passion for deals. A good writing style and the willingness to continuously improve it are essential.
- The author should reliably manage the deal section on weekends and ideally for years to come.
- Good English skills and excellent spelling in German are also important.
- As a freelancer, you independently or in cooperation with the affiliate editorial team, find and write about offers.
- Ideally, you have a thick skin because not every deal will be received positively by all users, but criticism is part of the business.
Your tasks
- You write preorder news, keep an overview of the most important online shops and their current offers, and find the best deals for the Mein-MMO community.
- You learn to input these articles into our content management system WordPress and design them for the web.
- You gain experience with our social media channels, analysis tools, and learn journalistic techniques.
- Analytical thinking is required: You write content that interests the community and learn to identify and assess these topics. The readers come first!
To make it clear: This is not a full-time job, but a few hours on the weekend. The workload will increase during selected events like Prime Day or Cyberweek.
What we are looking for
We are exclusively looking for expert authors for deals with this defined area of responsibility.
The job consists of finding and preparing the best deals for the users of Mein-MMO. This means you have a feel for what the users want. In most cases, this is gaming gear, but corresponding offers can also include a Blu-ray deal or a television deal. What is interesting for the users is crafted in collaboration with the affiliate editorial team and the community.
Deals are an important part of Mein-MMO.de: The website is freely accessible but needs to be financed. Deals are a good way to generate revenue while providing value for users. However, deals are not the core business of Mein-MMO. Users visit the site because of their passion for MMOs and not for offers. Those who understand this and enjoy deals are exactly right here.
Deals should be current and timely: Therefore, you need to be flexible in your working hours on weekends. Nothing is more frustrating than news about a deal that has been sold out for five minutes.
Ideally, you have already gained experience in journalism, have written for other sites, or have started your own blog. Additionally, you should have broad knowledge about gaming gear.
