Master X Master, the top-down shooter MOBA from NCSoft, is getting new heroes. From now on, the two heroines Poharan and Kromede are available in the game. The former comes from Blade & Soul, while the latter made her debut in Aion .
Master X Master not only relies on its own heroes but also shamelessly draws from the treasure trove of NCSoft’s own franchises. Therefore, among others, the killer hamster Mondo Zax from Wildstar and Rytlock Brimstone from Guild Wars 2 are also in the game. Now, two more heroines are coming, whom we already know from other successful NCSoft MMOs. We are talking about Poharan and Kromede, whom we will introduce to you in the following article.
Poharan – The cute anarchist meat grinder
Poharan, or more precisely Vice Admiral Poharan, is one of the leaders of the pirate gang “Black Ram”, a rogue group from Blade & Soul. In NCSoft’s colorful kung-fu MMO, Poharan is also the first major boss of a 24-man instance. In Master X Master, Poharan is a “sniper” who inflicts a lot of damage with her Gatling gun “Ratterwerfer”. The damage increases the farther she stands from the opponent.

Poharan should always stay at a distance and be protected from melee fighters. Fortunately, her skills support this:
- Bunny Hop: Poharan’s survivability. This allows her to quickly retreat from dangerous situations and bridge short distances.
- Fire Grenade: A grenade that explodes and leaves a fire effect on the ground that sets opponents ablaze.
- Gatling Jump: A skill shot where Poharan jumps to the end of the target area and rains down gunfire on everything below her. Jumps over opponents, but not obstacles.
- Suppressing Fire: A cone-shaped attack that deals damage and slows down opponents.
- Clay Pigeon Shooting: Poharan charges at the opponent, throws them into the air and then showers them with fire.
- Bratatatatat (Ultimate): Poharan fires as much as she can in a straight line, and her bullets penetrate all opponents in the target area. This can deal immense damage, but CC effects can stop this.
- Ammunition Pack (Passive): Every 10th hit deals more damage, and every 10 seconds a fire grenade (Maximum 4) is reloaded.
Kromede – The vengeful Daeva
Kromede comes from Aion and is an “Asmodian Daeva”. Aion players surely remember her, as she was the boss of the Fire Temple. But now she has landed in Master X Master and acts as a frontline fighter. With her bow “Judgment”, she shoots strong arrows at medium range and deals a lot of damage. Again, the closer an opponent is to her, the less damage they receive.

Kromede’s skills mainly focus on hindering opponents and pestering them with bleeding effects.
- Wind Shield: This survivability absorbs 100% of the next enemy attack and then grants a speed boost.
- Rapid Draw: Fires a fan of arrows that deals extra damage to bleeding targets.
- Hurricane Arrow: Fires a long-range arrow that knocks back hit targets. If it hits other opponents, they are stunned.
- Solar Eclipse: An area attack that rains down a hail of arrows on the target area. Bleeding opponents take more damage.
- Aether Shard: Places shards that slow down opponents.
- Day of Reckoning (Ultimate): Kromede’s standard attacks are temporarily replaced by powerful arrow fans.
- Blood Test (Passive): Transfers bleeding effects to opponents who are already under impairments.
So much for the two new heroines of Master X Master. As for me, I’m really looking forward to Poharan, as I found her pretty cool in Blade & Soul and I’m sure I’ll enjoy her gameplay. If you don’t know the game yet, be sure to check out our preview of Master X Master.
