Marvel Heroes is ideal as an action MMO for consoles PS4 and Xbox One, but was previously exclusive to the PC and Nvidia Shield. Now the superhero brawler is set to be released under the name “Marvel Heroes Omega” for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A beta is also planned.
Marvel Heroes, the action online RPG from Gazillion Entertainment in the Marvel universe, was previously only available for PC. Those who wanted to game comfortably from the couch with a gamepad had to either connect their PC to the TV or play via the Nvidia Shield streaming box.
Nevertheless, there have always been rumors about a port of Marvel Heroes to consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These were confirmed today!
Marvel Heroes Omega – Restart on PlayStation this Spring!
Under the new name “Marvel Heroes Omega”, the superhero action online RPG is set to be released on PlayStation 4 this Spring. A version for Xbox One is also planned but will be released at a later unspecified date.
However, those expecting the multitude of heroes from the PC version will be somewhat disappointed. From the recently added playable character roster of 62 with Nick Fury, only 38 will initially be available on PlayStation 4.
With this reduced starting lineup, the developers want to ensure that the launch on the console goes as smoothly as possible. However, there will be regular updates, which will soon bring the console version in line with the PC version.
Marvel Heroes Omega – Cross-Platform Play, Character Transfers, and Beta
The porting of Marvel Heroes to consoles would be a great opportunity for widely popular cross-platform play between consoles and PC. Unfortunately, the developers have already ruled this out in a Q&A session.
There will be neither cross-platform play nor character transfers from the PC version to the console.
“Very soon” a beta testing phase is also set to begin, where you can join with founder packages. This will be available for purchase at a later time in the PlayStation Store.
Marvel Heroes is like a Diablo with more MMO elements and Marvel superheroes
Marvel Heroes plays similarly to a modern Diablo with stronger MMO elements. No wonder. Marvel Heroes was designed by David Brevik, who is the father of the Diablo franchise. Brevik, however, left Marvel Heroes in 2016.
