Marathon is a sci-fi first-person shooter by Bungie, the developers of Halo and Destiny. The game is a reboot of their old shooter series from the 90s and is referred to as an extraction-based PvP multiplayer title. Players take on the role of cybernetic mercenaries, known as Runners, who explore an abandoned colony on the planet Tau Ceti IV. The goal is to secure valuable loot and escape alive. Instead of a classic story campaign, the focus is on thrilling online matches with tactical decisions.
