Maplestory 2, the successor to the Korean free-to-play hit Maplestory, will enter an open beta in early May. A worldwide release and thus a port to the West are also planned.
As the Asia MMO specialist Steparu reports, the most Korean of all Korea MMOs, Maplestory 2, will switch to an open beta on May 1st and is heading towards its release. According to Steparu, the game has taken a completely different direction than its predecessor, but continues to place the community and social interaction at the forefront.
Developer Nexon has announced a worldwide release after the launch in South Korea. However, there are no further details available yet.
Maplestory 2 is among the 12 most eagerly awaited Korea MMOs of the coming years.
