Today, maintenance work is taking place for Anthem in the late afternoon. A new patch is being deployed to resolve a major issue with loot.
Update 7:45 PM: The maintenance is complete, and the servers should be up and running again!
Update 7:15 PM: Maintenance has been extended. It has not been announced when the servers will be up again.
Update 5:40 PM: Community Manager Jesse Anderson reports that some players can log in and it appears that the save game has been deleted. However, this is not the case, as the maintenance work is not yet complete and the servers have not been restarted.
When is maintenance scheduled? As BioWare announced, maintenance for Anthem will take place today, Monday, April 8th. The servers will be taken offline, and you will not be able to log into the game.
This time, the work will take place later than usual, so you will have to wait until evening to jump back into your Javelin.
Here are the maintenance details for April 8th:
- The work is set to begin around 4 PM
- The maintenance work should be completed around 7 PM
Keep in mind that these are approximate times. If the work is delayed as in recent weeks, we will inform you here.
We have the patch notes for update 1.0.4.01/1.08 here for you.
What work is being done? Whether the work is normal maintenance or if the servers of Anthem are being worked on again has not been disclosed. However, a new patch is also expected to be released today. Therefore, you will need to download a new update after the maintenance before you can log back into Anthem.
The update has version number 1.0.4.01 on PC and Xbox One, while on PlayStation 4 it is the Anthem patch 1.08.
The update 1.0.4.01/1.08 is expected to change the following:
- The update should ensure that players receive fewer components for a Javelin they are not playing
- Rewards from the Elysian Store should now be displayed directly after the strongholds
- Additionally, in-game news has been fixed: Players have not been shown news upon game start since patch 1.04

What’s happening in Anthem? In recent weeks, the insider report by Jason Schreier has been a topic in Anthem.
The report painted a bleak picture of the development of Anthem and BioWare as a company. It is said that the game was created in just 18 months instead of seven years.
BioWare boss Casey Hudson has since commented on the report in an email. He admitted that a lot went wrong with Anthem and wants the studio to become a better workplace.
Last week, some players also dealt with an invisible stronghold boss.
