The Lucky Friends in Pokémon GO are live and are well received everywhere. However, one thing annoys the players, and a change would make the feature perfect.
What is the problem? The downside of Lucky Friends is that you can only take advantage of the feature if you are standing next to each other. So if you become a Lucky Friend with a player who does not live in the same place, it is useless, as you cannot trade.
This is what players suggest: Because this situation is annoying, some players suggest that you should be able to trade with Lucky Friends over distances. This would further improve the new feature.
What players think of Lucky Friends
How is the new feature received? After initial difficulties and some bugs, the Lucky Friends feature is now well received. Players appreciate that they now get guaranteed Lucky Pokémon.
It is also well received that players can finally use their best friends more often. Until now, it was almost pointless to send gifts to best friends, as the friendship level no longer increased.
Now you can only level up with these friends to become Lucky Friends. It is worth interacting again.
This would further improve the feature: Among all the positive comments, players also note that one should be able to trade with Lucky Friends over distances. Otherwise, some Lucky Friends become useless, as you cannot meet to trade.
As “sircrovax” writes on Reddit: “I just got my first Lucky Friend and they are about 10,000 km away from my location. I’m generally against trading over distances, as I think it could be abused. But not being able to trade with a Lucky Friend because they live far away feels bad.”
Over 1,000 people have already agreed to this thread, and more are joining. Many players feel similarly, as they have friends all over the world, but a Lucky Friend who is far away doesn’t offer much.
Distance doesn’t matter here: A good example of interactions over long distances is Pokémon Go’s own PvP system. There, you can battle with friends even if they are thousands of kilometers away. However, you must be at least a Hyper Friend.
With Lucky Friends, you even have to possess the highest friendship level ever. So what speaks against being able to trade with them over distance?
What do you think? Should you be able to trade with Lucky Friends over distances?
In addition to Lucky Friends, Avatar poses have also been introduced to the game:
