To reach item level 1,415 in Lost Ark, you need numerous materials. A user on reddit presents a simple trick to save costs and effort.
The user civocivocivo shows in a post on reddit an infographic on how to achieve item level 1,415 as cheaply as possible. The starting point is item level 1,370, which is the later Tier 3 area of the game.
Players are happy about the tip since they can finally progress. However, they need to overcome the so-called Dead Zone from 1,340 to 1,370 first. This only works with many materials because players must upgrade their gear and cannot farm new gear. This caused a lot of discussion in the forums and on reddit. With item level 1,415, thanks to the trick, you can reach it much faster – and especially cheaper.
How does the trick work? It uses the 1,370 gear, where you would normally improve everything to +15 to reach the desired item level. The weapon, chest piece, and pants cost the most materials, so civocivocivo only upgrades the chest piece and pants to +8 and the weapon to +11. Instead, he upgrades the cheapest part of the gear (helmet, gloves, shoes) to +17.
How much do I save? With this trick, you save over 20,000 destruction crystals, 5,000 guardian crystals, 500 honor leap stones, and almost 60,000 honor fragments. You also use less fusion material, silver, and gold. It’s worth it. Just for the 500 honor leap stones, you would need 20 days.
And what if the upgrade fails? The advantage is that the upgrade chance for expensive items is still nearly 100%, as it steadily declines after +7. Up to +6, it works 100%, but after that, the chance of success decreases by a few percentage points with each upgrade.
The calculations in the infographic assume that no item fails during the upgrading process. Therefore, the materials you lose if the upgrade doesn’t succeed are not taken into account. However, you avoid the most expensive failures if you apply the trick.

jinyu1993 says: “This method only works well if Valtan is already in the game. Currently, activities end at 1400 when you use the method; there’s nothing yet for which you need a higher gear score. 17/17/13/12/12/11 is better.”
archefayte asks: “What about gear transfer later? Will it be doable later if you need +15 for transferring?”
Many users are also asking for a similar trick to bypass Tier 1 and 2 as well as the early Tier 3. Unfortunately, there is currently (yet) none.
