The Korean MMORPG with Diablo influences Lost Ark has a beta date.
Update 3.12.: The beta for Lost Ark has now ended. 12 hours of gameplay material for Lost Ark, the latest at the moment, can be found here: Lost Ark: 12 Hours of Gameplay – This is how the Diablo MMO plays
They kept their word: At ChinaJoy, the start date for the beta of Lost Ark, a game that resembles Diablo with its quarter-view, which is said to contain more MMORPG elements.
On August 3, they will start gathering testers. On August 24, the beta is supposed to start, Smilegate announced. The tests are, from what we know, limited to the Asian market. South Korea is the home of Smilegate – in China, they already have a deal in place with the local giant Tencent.
Will Westerners be able to join the beta of Lost Ark?
Some from the West will likely try everything to sneak into the beta: Starting August 3, we will know if and how this will be possible. New information will come on how to participate in the beta of Lost Ark. According to information from Steparu, the beta is limited to 9000 users.
A small glimmer of hope: The (hopefully the right one) official Facebook page of Lost Ark also announced the beta in English … at least one will know that there are international fans.
The official website for Lost Ark in Korean currently shows the countdown to the beta start.
Until we have a chance to get our hands on Lost Ark here in the West, it will likely take longer. Although new information about “CrossFire 2” sounds like Smilegate has discovered the Western market as a target market.
