A new teaser for the next killer has been released in Dead by Daylight. And it appears to be a familiar face…
For several months now, the Demogorgon has been slaughtering in Dead by Daylight, spreading fear and terror. For a few weeks now, the Archives are active and bringing players new PvE content and story – but it’s slowly becoming time for the next killer. The developers at Behaviour have released a new trailer that gives the first hints.
What is shown in the trailer? The trailer showcases the map “Yamaoka Family Residence,” one of the already existing maps in Dead by Daylight. A male, distorted voice speaks in Japanese: “Your blood belongs to the Yamaokas.” Following this, blood is seen in the residence, slowly retreating and apparently disappearing into the ritual mask.
Which killer could it be? The most straightforward answer is that the killer is Rin’s father, who has become the Spirit. Rin was attacked by her father with a katana and was dismembered before the Entity brought her into its world. The Entity initially intended to grab the father but decided otherwise at the last moment. It is quite possible that the Entity now captures Rin’s father.
However, theories also suggest that it could be an ancestor of the Yamaoka family and not Rin’s father. This would at least explain the distorted, ghostly voice. It is conceivable that an ancestor, perhaps awakened by Rin’s spilled blood, is now putting on the mask.
When will the new killer be released? After the first teaser, it usually takes 1-2 weeks before more is known about the new killer and they become playable on the PTR.
