Dates for the Pokémon GO events in summer 2018 are known. A big celebration in Dortmund, the GO Fest in Chicago, and other Community Days are coming up.
In the coming months, there will be many Pokémon GO events that trainers all over the world can participate in. In Dortmund, a huge Safari Zone event will be celebrated at Westfalenpark. The big GO Fest in Chicago returns in July.

Pokémon GO Event in Dortmund – Starts in June
The rumors about a large Pokémon GO event in Dortmund started a few weeks ago when members of Niantic talked about it away from a trade fair. This event is now officially confirmed.
What? The Safari Zone event in Dortmund brings Pokémon that are otherwise rarely seen in Europe.When? Starts on June 30 – ends on July 1.
Where? The event takes place at Westfalenpark in Dortmund. This is the largest inner-city park in Europe. You will find water features, a Japanese garden, and more attractions there. The activities of the event will span across the entire Dortmund city area.

GO Fest in Chicago – Starts in July
Players already know the GO Fest from 2017. There were worldwide challenges and the first encounters with Articuno and Lugia. This festival returns this year.
What? The GO Fest 2018 is supposed to be an adventure for the trainers. More details will be announced soon.
When? This event takes place from July 14 to 15.
Where? The GO Fest 2018 will be held in Chicago, at Lincoln Park. Trainers from all over the world will have the opportunity to participate with global gameplay.
Price? Day tickets for the event in Chicago cost $20 and will be sold starting May 11 on the official GO Fest website.
Safari Event in Japan
For the summer, the Pokémon GO team is planning a special Safari event in Yokosuka, Japan. However, there are currently no further details available.
Dates for other Community Days
The Community Days in Pokémon GO take place monthly. They bring a special Pokémon that you can catch more frequently for a few hours on that day.
Additionally, these Pokémon or their evolutions can learn special moves during these events.
- Community Day in June: Another Community Day will take place on Saturday, June 16.
- Community Day in July: The Community Day will follow on Sunday, July 8.
- The Pokémon for these two events have not yet been determined.
More events planned
For trainers who do not want to travel to Dortmund or Chicago to participate in events, there will also be opportunities. A variety of options will be available to participate in further activities. More information on these features will be provided by Niantic soon.
