21-year-old Ryu “Keria” Min-seok won the world championship title in League of Legends in 2023, earning the right to wish for his own skin for LoL. He wavered between the champions Bard and Renata Glasc and let his fans vote on Instagram for which skin he should wish for. But then he did not follow the fans’ wish.
This is the situation:
- Whoever becomes a world champion in LoL gets to wish for a skin for a champion they have played at least once during the tournament from Riot Games. The world champions of T1 had already hinted at the end of November, which champions they were considering.
- The world-class supporter Keria originally wanted to receive a skin for Lux, but since he had not played the heroine even once at Worlds, he could not choose her, which really bothered him.
- His backup plan was the heroine Renata Glasc or the hero Bard – but he just could not decide.

So Keria informed the developers at Riot Games on December 23 at 5:00 PM: “Yes, I want Renata Glasc.”
Keria apologizes to Riot and the fans: Ultimately opts for Bard
Here was the catch: When everything was already finalized, at 12:30 AM, Keria had a change of heart again and notified Riot Games that he now wanted Bard.
He apologized to Riot Games for the late change. But he also told the fans: That’s it now. He takes Bard. Keria cannot change his mind a second time.
For the LoL fans who were strongly hoping for a skin for Bard or Renata Glasc, this was quite an emotional ride.
As decisively as T1 became world champions, they are now toying with the emotions of the LoL players.
