In the MOBA LoL (League of Legends), Christmas is just around the corner, and during the “Winter Cheer” event, new skins are being released.
It’s that time again: Christmas is approaching, and it’s slowly getting colder outside. The Winter Cheer event at League of Legends (LoL) is now starting.
Developer Riot Games is launching the widely popular Christmas event on December 10th.
This time, there are champion skins, eye skins, summoner icons, and many fun features around LoL, in order to bring the Christmas spirit to the community. Additionally, it is now possible to gift yourselves mysterious gifts, or to receive plenty of free legendary skins – this is made possible with the new snowball system, which we will introduce to you in more detail in this article.
The champion skins are winter-themed in League of Legends
Let’s begin with the champion skins.
Riot is bringing 3 new skins to the shop for the Winter Cheer event. These skins are:
“Snow Day Syndra” (orig. Snow Day Syndra)
The cool Syndra can be yours until 15.12.2015 (08:59) for 975 Riot Points, after that for 1350 Riot Points.
“Snow Day Bard” (orig. Snow Day Bard)
Bard, along with his penguin friend, can also be yours until 15.12.2015 (08:59) for 975 Riot Points, after that for the full price of 1350 Riot Points.
Also new is “Snow Day Gnar” (orig. Snow Day Gnar)
The little (and big!) Snow Day Gnar can be yours permanently for 975 Riot Points.
Additionally, there will also be the champion skins from last time available during this Winter Cheer event. These cost 975 Riot Points each.

“Snow Day Singed”
“Snow Day Ziggs”
In addition to these champion skins, there will also be the following 2 summoner icons in minion style available. The icy minion icon costs 250 Riot Points or 1500 Influence Points. A penguin ward skin will additionally be available for 640 Riot Points.
Of course, that’s not all you could plunder your wallet (or your influence points) for.
The minions themselves also shouldn’t miss out, as they are already short. To match the winter season, the little ones are getting some warm winter gear.
“I THROW MY INFLUENCE POINTS AT YOU”
Yes, I know: It sounds crazy. But you can not only buy a ward skin for influence points, but even start a snowball fight.
For 100 influence points, you can buy a “snowball” and throw it at a contact on your friends list. They will receive one of the 4 summoner icons depicted above every time with this throw and a 1-win-influence points bonus.
These snowball icons count toward your daily gift limit (which has been raised to 20 per day for the duration of Winter Cheer)
The Legend of the Poro King Brings Variety to ARAM of LoL
“Greetings, I return”
These words come from an old acquaintance, namely the Poro King.
For those who do not know him (shame on you) – here’s an explanation:
On the ARAM map (Howling Abyss), there will again be two new summoner spells. The existing “snowball” spell will presumably be changed to “poro toss”.
“Poro Toss”
As with the snowball, you can throw a poro at an opponent with this spell. If you hit an opponent with it, you can (like with Lee-Sin Q) teleport to the hit opponent by reactivating the spell.
“To the King!”
Once the King has appeared in the gorge, you can use this spell to transform into one of his subjects and teleport to the King.
And this is how the Poro event works in LoL
With the Poro Toss, you will quickly start a big quarrel – because who likes to have small poros thrown at their face?!
The Poro King enters the battlefield as soon as one team has thrown 10 poros into the opponents’ faces.
If the King fights on your side, you should protect him, as he offers great siege potential, increased mana regeneration, and also deals area damage and applies area healing. Therefore, it is equally important to drive off the King quickly when he fights for the opposing team.
Ward Skins – Our Ward Should Get More Beautiful
New ward skins are also a must. They cost 640 Riot Points each.

Of course, there are also packages with skins that are only available to purchase during the winter season.
You can find these in the shop starting from 10.12.2015. Even the first package is interesting as it contains the ever-popular Happy Elf Teemo
Make Yourself Happy – No One Can Hear You Scream in Solo Queue
From 10.12.2015 to 16.12.2015, there’s a possibility of gifting yourself mysterious gifts. Mysterious here means that you can receive any possible skin (minimum value 520 RP) if you buy a “mysterious skin” for 490 Riot Points. This can also include legendary or ultimate skins.
In this Winter Cheer event, the following mysterious gifts are available:
Champions (490 RP), skins (490 RP), eyes (380 RP), chests (790RP), summoner icons (150 RP)
Old Classics Available Mid-December in League of Legends
Classic older champion skins will be available at a discounted price in the shop from 16.12.2015 to 08.01.2016.

The Best Comes Last – Luck with the Snowball System
The snowball system can also hit you quite positively!
If you buy a legendary skin during the Winter Cheer event, you additionally unlock a mysterious skin. If this mysterious skin is legendary again, it unlocks another mysterious skin. This continues in the spirit of the snowball principle!
So if you’ve wanted to buy a specific legendary skin for a long time, now is the best time to do so.
Furthermore, since 29.11.2015 to 08.12.2015, additional credits were given for the purchase of Riot Points in LoL.
