At the midpoint of the 2017 season, there are some changes to champions, monsters, and items in LoL, which will now be presented in a video.
In the middle of the 2017 season, there are significant changes in League of Legends. Tank champions are getting reworks to fulfill their roles better. Support champions are receiving changed items that grant them quests, and the Rift Herald … becomes a fierce battering ram that turns buildings to rubble.
In the German spotlight, you will see what awaits you soon in League of Legends:
Rift Herald
As you can see in the video, the Rift Herald will soon have a significant impact on gameplay in League of Legends. After you kill it, you will temporarily receive an item in your inventory that enhances recalls. When the item is used, the Rift Herald appears and fights for your team. It will attack the nearest lane like a demolition ball, destroying buildings there. The opposing team should try to stop it.
Tanks – Zac, Sejuani, Maokai
In League of Legends, these three tanks are now supposed to become more unique and thus receive a rework:
- Zac didn’t have much to do after his engage in team fights. With the changes, he can make two enemies collide with his Q-slam and a subsequent normal attack. His new ultimate can abduct enemies from the spot. Additionally, there is a change to his voice. The lower Zac’s health, the higher his voice pitch becomes.

- Sejuani gains more control over the battlefield in team fights. With a passive ability, Sejuani becomes temporarily immune to slows. Allies can help her stack frost on enemies so that they can be frozen when fully stacked.
- Maokai gets a new voiceover and control over a root wall approximately as wide as a lane. The first enemy hit by one of the roots will be held in place. His saplings now grow and are empowered when they land in brush.
Supporters
Supporting players in League of Legends are to be valued better in the future. Their special items Ancient Coin, Relic Shield, and Thief’s Pouch (as well as their upgrades) now offer quests. The Relic Shield will automatically grant you a shield after completing a quest that charges outside of combat.
Honor for Vision and CC
After the game, additional stats will be listed that highlight important elements of the game. In the game summary, values such as:
- Damage Taken
- Damage to Towers
- Vision
- Crowd Control
Throughout the season, the summary is to be expanded with additional statistics.
10 Bans in Ranked Games
The ban system in League of Legends is set to receive some changes in the coming weeks. Every player should have equal influence during the ban phase by receiving a ban option. At the same time, champion selection should be fair, and it should not matter in what order champions are banned.
The 10-ban system, however, requires each player to own at least 20 champions instead of just 16. There will soon be an XP weekend where you can earn essential points for the heroes.
