The latest heroine in the MOBA League of Legends (LoL) is considered not sexy enough by some players – The developer has now clearly expressed their opinions!
Just a few days ago, the teaser video for the new League of Legends heroine Taliyah was released, and it already sparked many discussions. Many LoL fans compared the heroine visually to “Korra” from the series “The Legend of Korra”.
However, such nice words are quickly overshadowed by less friendly comments, as can be found in the comment section under the YouTube video.
Fans demand more visible “body” on the new LoL champion
In the comment section of Taliyah’s YouTube video, some users called the champion “ugly” and “not sexy” – “Such heroes should be avoided,” it is even said. Daniel Klein, the champion designer for Taliyah, made it clear on Twitter that not every female hero needs to showcase her visual charms. With some heroes like Ahri, it fits the “theme” when she shows more skin, as her strength lies in seducing other heroes.
Also, recently released female heroes like Rek’Sai, who as a monster has nothing to do with “sexy,” or Illaoi, who wields tentacles, have been accepted by the community. There are already 33 (counted!) women in LoL where their visual charms are in the foreground.
Additionally, he stated that they would also design a heroine in the future who is “sexy.” But not because the fans want it, but because it fits her theme. Taliyah is a girl who has trouble protecting her loved ones without them getting hurt. In her story it does not say, “and by the way, I make myself sexy for my date in Shurima…”
Here, Daniel Klein makes it clear again that Taliyah looks the way she does because it makes sense. If anyone thinks that this is a clear stance and that actually no one should have anything to complain about, they don’t know the Twitter users:
Some people always have something to complain about…
