On the test servers for League of Legends, the new champion Samira unexpectedly appeared on August 28. However, it seems she landed there by accident. But now we know everything about her abilities.

Players are reacting to the trailer and looking forward to a lot of fun. They also compare Samira to an older, well-known video game character.
What’s going on with Samira? Samira, of whom there was already a leak, appeared with the latest update for the PBE, the test environment of League of Legends. Normally, new champions are announced in advance and can then be extensively tested there.
However, Samira only appeared in the PBE data and is not yet playable. It seems that the information was published by accident. The time also seems rather unusual for a Friday evening.
Everything about the champion comes from data mining. It is possible that Samira’s skills might change before the actual release, although major revisions are unlikely. The images and information come from the website Surrenderat20.
What kind of champion is Samira? Samira has melee and ranged abilities. She seems to be able to deal a lot of damage and has an interesting passive ability based on combos. Through your emotes and her abilities, she seems to be inspired by games like Devil May Cry or Castlevania.
Overall, it seems like she is a good champion for the top lane.
She could also become the third champion to be released in a short period of time:
- Yone, Yasuo’s brother, was released on August 5
- The new jungler Lillia in July
- Additionally, Seraphine has already been teased, a new champion who might join the band K/DA.
All skills of the new champ Samira
The Passive: Samira’s passive is called Daredevil Impulse and has several abilities:
- Samira builds a combo by hitting attacks or skills that she has not directly used before. Each increases her style, from “E” to “S” (a total of 6 stages). Samira gains X% movement speed per grade.
- Samira’s melee attacks deal additional X magic damage, which can be increased by up to X based on the target’s missing health points.
- Samira’s attacks against enemies that are immobilized will throw them upwards for 0.5 seconds and deal additional damage over 6 separate hits. Samira dashes to targets that are slightly out of her attack range.
The Q-Skill: Samira’s ability Flair can be used both in melee and ranged:
- Samira fires a shot and deals X physical damage to the first enemy hit.
- If this ability is cast on an enemy within melee range, Samira will slash with her sword instead and deal X physical damage.
- Each of the two hits can deal a critical hit with 25% additional damage.
- If cast during “Wild Rush”, Samira hits all enemies in her path.
The W-Skill: Samira’s “W” is named Bladewhirl and can destroy skill shots from other champions, similar to Fiora’s Riposte:
- Samira spins around for 1 second, dealing X physical damage to enemies twice and destroying all enemy skill shots that come near her.
The E-Skill: Wild Rush allows Samira to dash through an ally or enemy and serves as a “gap-closer” to enemies:
- Samira rushes through an enemy or ally, slicing enemies she passes and gaining attack speed. Killing an enemy champion immediately recharges the ability.
The Ultimate: The ultimate ability Inferno Trigger is unique and can only be used when the style level is right:
- Samira can only use this ability when her current style rating is “S”.
- Samira unleashes a flurry of shots from her weapons, firing wildly at all enemies around her 10 times within 2 seconds. Each shot deals X physical damage and grants lifesteal. Each shot can also critically hit.
Will Samira be a useful champion? On Reddit, opinions about Samira are divided, partly because people haven’t seen her in action yet. Overall, her abilities seem strong and she sounds “fun to play”, as described by user GrimmParagon.
However, many are surprised that another swordsman with a similar play style appears right after Yone. Some also fear that it won’t be fun to play against Samira.
It probably won’t be as bad as with Yuumi. According to LoL pro Perkz, she should completely disappear from the game.
