As a preview of Patch 6.7 for the MOBA League of Legends (LoL), players can already check out the 3 new legendary skins on the test servers.
Days ago, developer Riot Games drew attention with a special teaser indicating that a new “mechanical” themed skin for one of the League of Legends champions will be coming soon. It quickly became clear that this pertains to Sion. Additionally, other skins have been uploaded for testing on the LoL beta servers. Furthermore, a comprehensive overhaul of many (older) champion splash arts is underway.
Mecha Zero Sion – Choo Choo, here comes the LoL train
Not only die-hard Sion fans are excited about this new skin from the creative minds of the Riot Games design team. This skin literally transforms Sion into a train when he uses his ultimate ability. His abilities have been reworked, he has a new voice, and even a new animation when he teleports back to base. Mecha Zero Sion currently costs 1820 Riot Points on the PBE servers – the price may still change.
Program Lissandra – the Ice Robot in LoL
The last skin for the Ice Sorceress was released about 2 years ago. Now she is set to receive a “Program” themed skin that basically transforms her into a robot. A new champion model with new textures and a new animation for recalling to base. This skin currently costs 1350 Riot Points. As with Sion, this price is not final.
Program Soraka – Digital Bananas in League of Legends
Soraka also receives a completely new champion model in the form of a robot. Just recently, Soraka’s abilities were slightly reworked, significantly increasing her win rate. With this new skin, she not only gets visual updates (including the recall), but also new sounds and a new voice (beep boop). The price for this skin for Soraka is also not final – currently, it stands at 1350 Riot Points.
Major Splash Art Overhaul in LoL
The graphics of various champions differ significantly across different regions. The developers at Riot Games believe that players should not have such strong visual differences for the champions, as it can evoke a different perception of these champions. The splash arts of each champion, which players see during champion selection and on the loading screen, are expected to look more uniform (across various regions) in the future.
