Riot Games says “Thank you” for 10 years and is giving gifts to the League of Legends players.
It has been about 10 years since Riot Games was founded. Riot Games released League of Legends in 2009, making a significant impact in the eSports scene. Since then, there have been many developments in the game and the community. Even though the community is a point of contention for many, it must be noted that it is passionate. This passion has, among other things, driven the game to become such a successful multiplayer title today. For the birthday of Riot Games, the Riot executives are looking back on the last 10 years of the company’s history.
Free Skin or Mysterious Gift + Bonus IP Weekend
In the last 10 years, a lot has happened at Riot Games. From a League of Legends beta with a few hundred players, it has become an eSports title with a massive community. Marc “Tryndamere” Merril and Brandon “Ryze” Beck could not have imagined this when the game was founded. The game was still full of bugs back then, and the developers wondered what kept players engaged with League of Legends. The loyalty of the community has endured for so many years that the game is now a trending multiplayer title.
To show their gratitude, the developers will be distributing gifts to the loyal community in the coming days. There will be a Kayle skin or a mysterious skin, a summoner icon, and a bonus IP weekend to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Riot Games.
- Summoner Icon – Watch out, Poro!
- Riot Kayle (If you don’t already own the champion, you’ll receive Kayle as a gift) – If you already have the champion and skin, you’ll receive a mysterious gift instead. If your account currently cannot receive a mysterious gift, you’ll receive the value of a mysterious gift as RP credited.
To qualify for these gifts, you only need to have played a “League of Legends” match in the past 60 days. If you have not played League of Legends in the last 2 months, but still want the gifts, you can play a game in LoL until September 19 to qualify. A second round will take place on September 23, during which the gifts will be distributed. To qualify with a match, you can also play a “Co-op vs. AI” game or an ARAM. Additionally, your account must be at least level 5.
Bonus IP Weekend in League of Legends
Additional IP rewards will be available on the following weekend. From September 16 at 09:01 AM until September 19 at 08:59 AM, there will be double the amount of IP in LoL. From Friday to Monday, you’ll have a flat bonus on the IP rewards, which will not change even if you play in a premade group.
If you still lack IP for a specific champion or chroma skins, you can earn them quickly over the following weekend. We say Thank you and look forward to the next years with Riot Games and League of Legends!
