A new live-action trailer for Fallout 76 has been released. In the quirky clip celebrating multiplayer, we get to see a giant sloth among other things, along with a Deathclaw.
Fallout 76 – What’s in the Official Live-Action Trailer: In the video, we are greeted immediately with the first camera sweep from a smiling giant sloth. The sloth is inspired by a local legend from the state of West Virginia, where the game world of Fallout 76 is located.
The song “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” is playing, which makes it all feel very cheerful. The camera continues to move and captures a beautiful scenery including a farmhouse and sunset. In the middle, a woman is surrounded by monsters, but she smiles cheerfully while shooting around and spinning in circles.
More relaxed scenes follow, showing groups battling through a mining facility or exploring a plane wreck in a swamp.
The typical Fallout humor is unmistakable in the trailer: Generally, all the characters in the trailer are very relaxed and seem as if it’s all just a casual Sunday stroll. In one of the last scenes, everyone is sitting by a campfire with marshmallows in their C.A.M.P., as if on a school trip.
A Deathclaw walks up to the fire, but that doesn’t seem to disturb anyone. A quick poke with a burning marshmallow stick and it takes off. Everyone laughs.
The final scene shows an atomic explosion, presumably from a nuke that can also be activated in the game. The group watches as if it were a sunset. You get a quick glimpse of the Scorchbeast, a large, winged bat creature.
Presumably, the trailer aims to set the stage for the multiplayer component of Fallout 76, as it is the first installment in the series that will be a purely online game.
