NCsoft has postponed the beta of Lineage Eternal.
NCsoft is a Korean MMO giant – with games like Guild Wars 2 or Blade and Soul they are also successful in the West. However, the biggest success in their lineup remains “Lineage,” an MMORPG from 1998. It continues to be incredibly successful for NCsoft.
The current “prestige project” of NCsoft is a successor to Lineage: The game is called “Lineage Eternal” and is set to be released for PC as well as iOS. It was first introduced in 2011 with this trailer.
Analysts consider this to be the strategically most important title for NCsoft, making it central to the long-term future of the company.
Originally, Lineage Eternal was supposed to be released in 2016. However, the project has already gone through several delays, with the last update suggesting that a closed beta phase would begin “early 2016.” That has now been postponed as well. Currently, NCsoft expects to enter a closed beta phase in the 3rd quarter of 2016.
