Often, the likelihood of successfully carrying out such an upgrade decreases with increasing strength, while the requirements for an upgrade attempt continue to rise. This introduces grinding and farming into the equation. Generally, an “upgrade” also refers to an improvement of equipment through a positive item exchange.
