Grind (or the grind) always refers to a laborious, mindless activity intended to achieve a specific goal. When grinding levels, one defeats the same mobs repeatedly, without completing quests or engaging in other dynamic activities. Grinding is almost always used negatively and indicates a flaw in game design. From a European perspective, especially Korean or other Asian MMORPGs are considered grind-heavy. It is also referred to as a grindfest.
