Emotes are commands that make a character perform a pre-defined animation. With /bow the character bows, with /cry it starts to cry, or with /dance it breaks into crazy twitches. For role players, emotes also mean commands that are preceded by /em or /me. With them, role players describe the emotional state of their character.
