Refers to abilities that affect an area rather than just individual targets. Example: An arrow shot typically affects only one target, while a volley of arrows or a rain of arrows affects an entire area and is therefore an Area Effect. A Point-Blank Area Effect takes the caster themselves as the center and affects the area around them.
