Release Period and Price
Market Launch: In September 2025, the exact date is still unknown.
Price: From 999 Euros (Europe) or from 1,099 US Dollars (USA). Depending on the specifications, the Legion Go 2 will be significantly more expensive. The price is certainly well above the first Legion Go and significantly above the Steam Deck.
For the starting price of 999 Euros, you only get the weakest configuration: Besides the new display, you only get the AMD Ryzen Z2, which is based on the performance of the old Z1 Extreme, along with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage (SSD).

Differences to the Predecessor (Legion Go)
Compared to the predecessor, the Legion Go, there are some noticeable differences. The most important difference is primarily the OLED display, which, however, has a lower resolution than the Legion Go: Instead of WQHD, it now features only a Full HD display.
- Display: OLED instead of LCD, now with variable refresh rate (VRR) down to 30 Hz.
- Performance: Up to Ryzen Z2 Extreme with a more modern architecture and faster GPU.
- RAM & SSD: Up to 32 GB/2 TB. The predecessor only allowed a maximum of 16 GB/512 GB.
- Battery: 74 Wh instead of 49 Wh, promising significantly longer battery life.
- Controllers: Improved durability, ergonomics, and precision while remaining detachable like the predecessor.
- Price: The price is at least 200 Euros higher than the first generation: The Legion Go was priced at launch at 799 Euros (RRP), the new Legion Go 2 starts at 999 Euros.
Differences to the Steam Deck
The Steam Deck remains a budget entry into the handheld market, leaving aside the old Switch somewhat. Especially thanks to SteamOS, the Steam Deck is excellently optimized for handheld mode. There are some differences to the Legion Go 2 that you should be aware of:
- Display: Larger, compared to the LCD model, OLED is used. The Steam Deck also has an overall lower resolution.
- Performance: More modern AMD processor and faster RAM than the Steam Deck. Valve’s hardware is still from 2022.
- Operating System: Windows 11 instead of SteamOS, but SteamOS can be installed experimentally. The Steam Deck is optimized for SteamOS.
- Price: Legion Go 2 is significantly more expensive: 999 Euros (Legion Go 2) vs 569 Euros (Steam Deck OLED, 512 GB).
- Controllers and Handling: Switch-like detachable controllers, FPS mode as mouse. On the Steam Deck, the controllers are permanently attached.
