The second closed beta of the sandbox MMORPG Legends of Aria is starting soon – and it will receive a fresh graphics makeover.
Legends of Aria – A prettier unofficial Ultima Online 2
Significantly better graphics. A criticism of the previous test phases of Legends of Aria (formerly Shards Online) was the graphics. Especially the landscapes and dungeons appeared somewhat barren and lacking in detail. But that is changing now. Closed Beta 2 starts on July 12, and players will hardly recognize the MMO:
- The landscapes have been revised and now offer significantly more vegetation and detail
- The dungeons are no longer so empty
- The lighting atmosphere has been completely changed
- Partially, the development team has also revamped entire locations to make them prettier
In general, Legends of Aria now feels much more beautiful, atmospheric, and interesting. Thanks to the new graphics, it should soon be much more enjoyable to traverse the landscapes and explore the dungeons.
Closed Beta 2 brings more than just prettier visuals. The upcoming Closed Beta 2 has even more to offer:
- Plenty of bug fixes
- Server optimizations
- New animals you can tame
- Secure trading among players
- Fast travel
- Changes to combat
Legends of Aria prepares for the open beta. If you’d like to know how the unofficial successor to the classic Ultima Online compares to its great predecessor, you will soon have the opportunity to participate in an open beta. This open test phase will start in August. A specific date will be announced later. Following the open beta, the early access phase is set to begin on Steam in the fall.
Who is Legends of Aria for? Legends of Aria is aimed at anyone who wants to experience a sandbox adventure like Ultima Online again, but also wants to see some modern features and improved graphics. Many who participated in the test phases so far believe that Legends of Aria comes very close to Ultima Online.
