Leaks show New Year’s Eve event for 2020
Dataminers found a hint about how this year’s New Year’s Eve event might unfold. The dataminer Lucas7yoshi discovered in the files that the event will likely be quite similar to last year’s. He posted this on Twitter:
He states that he found no changes compared to last New Year’s Eve event. It will likely unfold the same way, but adjusted for the year.
Same event for New Year’s Eve?
How did the New Year’s Eve event 2018 unfold? For the last New Year’s Eve, there was a big celebration in Fortnite. There were challenges, a live event, and matching skins for the celebration.
Every full hour, a huge disco ball appeared in the sky, fireworks were launched, the number 2019 appeared in the sky, and players were forced to dance.
This year there are also challenges that will bring you a festive reward. Last year, one had to place devices on a creative mode island.
This year there are 2 different tasks to complete:
- 30.12: Light a firework at the beaches of Sweaty Sands, Craggy Cliffs, or Dirty Docks. By completing this task, you will receive a glider with the number 2020
- 31.12: Search for ammo crates at the Workshop, Shiver Inn, or Ice Thrones. With this challenge, you unlock a trap effect with disco balls
Will the matching skins return to the shop? It might be possible that we will see the disco skins again in the shop this year. In 2018, these were presented in the item shop.
