A porn dialogue makes its way into the German version of League of Legends. In LoL, assassin Evelynn whispers: Why is there straw here?
“Why is there straw here?” is a phrase that almost every German between 12 and 30 knows.
The phrase originally comes from a porn film from 2002 “Eighteen and a Half 18”.
A woman in lingerie enters a basement with a masked man. It seems to be about him checking the circuit box. There is straw in front of the circuit box.
A dialogue unfolds as follows:
- Woman: “This is the circuit box we always have problems with. Can you take a look at it?”
- Man: “Yes, gladly. But… why is there straw everywhere?”
- Woman: “And why are you wearing a mask?”
- Man: “Hmm… then give me a blow job.”
Porn Dialogue becomes Internet Phenomenon and part of League of Legends
This dialogue from the porn film became an internet phenomenon years later, around 2011.
Only this completely absurd dialogue, not the actual sex action, was shown so often in video clips that everyone had seen it at least once. Often in connection with how hollow dialogues in porn films are, as they are only about “getting to the point.”.
Now Riot Games shows humor and gives the sentence “Why is there actually straw here” to the sexy assassin Evelynn in League of Legends. As part of a champion update, her lines in the game were renewed.
A user on reddit noticed that this sentence suddenly appears in the new German voice of Evelynn.
Evelynn, the Widowmaker, has been in League of Legends since 2009. She is a kind of man-murdering femme fatale with animal-demonic elements. Evelynn has always been depicted as highly sexualized.
