At the start of the new ranked season, there are some changes to League of Legends. We have summarized the most important ones for you.
The end of the preseason has been reached and League of Legends is starting the new ranked season 2017. In patch 6.24, there are now some changes that are valid for the new season. Among other things, items have been changed and masteries altered. Additionally, there are new skins for the Christmas season. However, these are not only for champions but also for the map. Furthermore, the new champion Camille is waiting to be played by you.
1. Camille in League of Legends
With a cool comic teaser, the new champion of League of Legends has been introduced to the community. In the new patch 6.24, she will be activated in the game and available for summoners. To help you handle her during your matches, we have introduced her skills individually.

2. The ranked season 2017 has started
Today the new season for ranked games in LoL has begun. To get started, you first need to complete a series of placement games. This will assign you to a specific league where your ranked adventure begins.
There are different queues available for you when you want to start ranked games. These include Solo Queue and Flex Queue. We have explained the changes and differences of these queues in LoL here.
Keep in mind that you will not necessarily start the league that you finished last season after your placement games. Most often, you will be positioned lower than last season.
3. Rylais Crystal Scepter has been changed
For mages and some tanks, Rylais Crystal Scepter was an important item that was used in many games. An item that provides health and ability power and also slows down enemies, it is part of the standard build of some champions. Now some changes have been made to the Scepter:
- The slow is now always 20% with a duration of one second
- Health points have been reduced from 400 to 300
- The Crystal Scepter now gives only 75 instead of 100 ability power
- The purchase price has been reduced by 600 gold
4. Colossus Mastery nerfed
During the preseason, the new Keystone Mastery Colossus was introduced into the game. Champions with strong CC abilities have received a significantly higher win rate through this mastery. Especially Nautilus players were pleased with this mastery.
Now the developers have decided to weaken this ability. It was too strong for engage champions with crowd control and provided too strong shields.
- Cooldown adjusted from 30 seconds to 45-30 seconds (level 1-18).
- Shield from nearby enemies reduced from 7% to 5% (maximum 25%).
5. Christmas Skins in LoL
For the Christmas season in League of Legends, there are again special skins for various champions this year. You can choose between Santa Braum, Snow Day Graves, and Winter Wonder Karma. We have presented these skins here with videos.
