A player loves their vinyl record with the soundtrack of Baldur’s Gate 3, but their cat brought an unfortunate end to their joy over the merchandise. The creators of the game could not stand by idly.
What did the cat do? The player Naoness reported with a post in the subreddit of Baldur’s Gate 3, stating that their vinyl record with the soundtrack of Baldur’s Gate 3 was destroyed – it melted in the record player due to the heat of the incoming sunlight.
The player insists that the curtains were closed, but somehow their cat must have managed to pull them up, causing the sun to liquefy the vinyl.

“My heart is completely broken,” writes Naoness, as the record was not only a collector’s item but also a birthday gift from their wife.
Additionally, they warn other collectors to view the post as a warning and to always properly protect their records from sunlight and heat.
Naoness has already received many encouragements from the community, but not only players have noticed the player’s misfortune, but also the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 themselves.

How did the creators of the game respond? Apparently, Larian also heard about the unfortunate situation of the fan, as a week later Naoness reported with an update on Reddit. Larian reached out and thought of a little encouragement by sending Naoness a new vinyl record – and on top of that, there were also 3 pins as a gift.
“I really can’t thank Larian enough,” writes the player, “You have already given us one of the best games of all time, and now this kindness on top. It really means a lot to me!”
Appropriately, Naoness shows further pictures of the gifts and the two records, new and warped, side by side. And also the culprit can be seen, who appears quite unimpressed.
How is the community reacting? Players are happy for the fan and are thrilled by Larian’s attention. However, they also recognize the value in the warped record and hope that this will also be preserved as a keepsake:
