The NXT update introduces the new client of the same name into the MMO. With this, visibility has been significantly increased, dynamic shadows and better lighting effects have been introduced. Moreover, the performance is reportedly significantly better, according to the developers. However, it is mentioned that despite an intensive testing phase, it cannot be guaranteed that there will be no issues.

To celebrate the release of the NXT client, you are invited to participate in the event Benedict’s World Tour. This is a new adventure that takes you through the world of RuneScape. This way, you get to see the beautified landscapes and effects. Benedict Encumberyak is missing some items in the game that he lost during his last world tour. Now, he sends you to various locations to find these items. Eight of the locations can be visited by players of the free version of the MMO, and those who have a premium account can explore eight additional locations. As rewards, experience points await.
A Timeless Classic
RuneScape can be played in two versions. In the classic version, which corresponds to the original version and is available at the community’s request, and in the regular version, which contains some changes and innovations that not all longtime fans have appreciated.
