Today, on May 1st, a battle event starts in Pokémon GO, bringing you more experience points, stardust, and more items.
A new event is on the way in Pokémon GO. It helps you collect items and also offers more experience points and items as rewards. It’s starting today!
Showdown in Pokémon GO
Today, on May 1st, a special form of showdown begins in Pokémon GO. Fighting Pokémon will appear more frequently. Trainer levels will increase faster in battles and badges will be easier to earn.
What’s it about?
- In the next two weeks, you’ll encounter fighting Pokémon like Machop and Makuhita more often in the wild. The announcement image also shows Farfetch’d, Meditite, and Hitmonchan.
- Double experience points are available for gym battles and raid battles.
- Participation in raid battles will grant you 3,000 stardust and at least one special candy if your group wins.
- In gyms, badges receive a 2x multiplier, allowing you to earn more rewards.
- Spinning the photo disk of a gym rewards you with more items during the event.
How long does the event last? The showdown in Pokémon GO begins on May 1st at 10:00 PM German time and will be active until May 14th.
What does this event mean for you? You can collect fighting Pokémon diligently after the event starts because they will appear more frequently in the wild. It is assumed that not only the Pokémon on the cover will spawn more often, but that additional fighting Pokémon are waiting for you in the grass.
Do many gym battles! Because that’s where the event is particularly worthwhile. You not only receive double experience points, but also a lot of stardust and special candies when you win. If you have only a short amount of time, you should at least spin the photo disks of the gyms to collect many items until May 14th.
In the gyms, you’ll now also find these new raid bosses on various tiers.
