The Bug Event in Pokémon GO has started and brings a new Shiny as well. There are also cool new quests and some bonuses.
What is the Bug Event? During this event, you will find Bug Pokémon in the wild everywhere. Additionally, there are bonuses related to the item Incense, and a new Shiny, Scyther, is in the game.
The event runs until April 9 at 10 PM German time. Until then, you can take advantage of all bonuses and maybe catch a rare Shiny that is currently more common.

This is the new Shiny: Scyther can be caught for the first time in its shiny form. Its evolution, Scizor, is also available as Shiny. You can find Scyther not only in the wild but also in quests and raids.
These quests are available: There are a total of 5 quests specifically designed for this event:
- Catch 15 Bug Pokémon
- Reward: 1500 Stardust
- Catch 10 Bug Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Scyther
- Catch 2 Wurmple
- Reward: Encounter with a Caterpie

This quest is special: You have a chance to get Nincada again from a quest after a long time. Many players were missing this Pokémon or its evolution. You can now secure it through the quest.
What spawns are there? Almost every Bug Pokémon spawns more frequently in the wild. Particularly noteworthy are the possible Shinies, which include Caterpie, Weedle, Scyther, and Pinsir. So keep an eye out for them.
