Johnny Depp described during the Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2016 that it was a difficult time for him when he worked on the film Gilbert Grape. However, he couldn’t pinpoint exactly why it affected him so much.

He explains that he is not sure whether his bad mood was related to the film or if it was mere coincidence that he had difficulties during that time. However, many shooting days were miserable for him.

Apparently, the actor took out his frustration on his 12 years younger colleague Leonardo DiCaprio. Johnny Depp confesses: “I tortured him. I really did.”
