The car brand Jaguar is undergoing radical changes since late 2024. One reason why Jaguar sold almost no cars in 2025. Only in 2026 is it expected to start again with a new electric vehicle.
Jaguar is a luxury car brand originally from the United Kingdom and today belongs to the Indian company Tata Motors in conjunction with Land Rover. Depending on the date one considers, Jaguar will be 90 or even over 100 years old this year: The first Jaguar was produced in 1935, but the company can trace its origins back to 1922. This is stated by Jaguar on its own website
In late 2024, a radical reboot of the brand “Jaguar” was announced: They intend to produce exclusively electric vehicles and have almost completely ceased the sales of all other vehicles.
In 2025, almost no new vehicles were sold; it is expected to continue again in 2026
How many vehicles were sold in 2025? Jaguar has largely stopped the regular sales of new cars, so in 2025, virtually no new Jaguars were sold in many markets.
Officially, there is talk of a “new car sales stop” until the market launch of the new electric fleet. In some markets – like the United Kingdom and partly Europe – no new Jaguars will be offered for about twelve months. In practice, however, a handful of vehicles were sold. And these are exclusively remaining stocks, as Jaguar currently does not produce any vehicles.
According to the official vehicle registrations counted by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), no Jaguar model was sold in October 2025, and throughout the year 2025, 934 new vehicles were registered (via acea.auto).
A spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover explained to Financialexpress.com that all of this is a planned step for the radical transformation of the brand starting in 2026. Therefore, the sales figures of 2025 cannot be compared with those of 2024:
Comparing Jaguar’s sales with those of 2024 is pointless, as we did not produce any vehicles in 2025 and only minimal stock is available.
When will things continue at Jaguar? Officially in summer 2026. Then the first new vehicle of the renewed brand is expected to hit the market: the Type 00, a four-door GT model priced at 120,000 euros. So far, enthusiasm has been limited, reports, for example, the BBC.
