In Pokémon GO a new costumed Pikachu could soon come to the game. Dataminers found avatar outfits that suggest the Wrestler Pikachu.
What exactly was discovered? Dataminer Chrales found a complete outfit for your avatar that could soon be available in the shop. You can dress your avatar like a Wrestler Pikachu.
The outfit suggests that this special costumed Pikachu might soon come to the game. In line with this, some trainers have already made plausible assumptions.
Is Wrestler Pikachu coming to the PvP League?
What is suspected for the release: The Wrestler Pikachu could come just in time for the launch of the PvP League. After all, it is a fighter and would fit well with Trainer Battles.
Another hint comes from the move Flying Press. This attack was recently announced by Niantic and it has not yet been revealed which Pokémon can learn the move.
The only two Pokémon that could learn Flying Press in the console games were Resladero and Wrestler Pikachu. Since Resladero is from Generation 6 and will not be appearing yet, Flying Press could be mastered by the special costumed Pikachu.
What to keep in mind: So far, only the avatar outfit has been found. Wrestler Pikachu itself has not yet appeared. This could be introduced at a later date, but that remains to be seen.
What is behind Wrestler Pikachu? Wrestler Pikachu appeared in the console games Ruby and Sapphire. There, you could obtain a Cosplay Pikachu, which could wear the costume of a Wrestler among others. Besides the Wrestler, there were also costumes of a rocker or a professor.
The Wrestler Pikachu is inspired by a luchador; in Mexico, “Lucha Libre” is professional wrestling. There, fighters wear the typical masks.
When could the PvP League come? The PvP League and possibly Wrestler Pikachu is expected to appear sometime in Spring 2020.
Dataminers have already found numerous hints about the league and Niantic is already teasing the new feature extensively. So it could very well be that it won’t be long before the PvP League finds its way into the game.
