The MMO shooter Enlisted has completed its first test phase. The massive battles aim to depict World War II as realistically as possible. Testers report whether this has been successful.
When did the test take place? The online shooter Enlisted hosted a public test on April 1 for one day on PC. Players can fight the Battle of Moscow in World War II on a map of the Invasion mode and two maps of the Domination mode.
First test received positive feedback
What is special about the game? The Russian developers want to represent the battles of World War II with Enlisted as realistically as possible. This means that the fights are very fast-paced, but can also become quite chaotic. Already during the first attack, it is possible for many players to drop out of the match.
Therefore, you control AI soldiers in the Invasion mode, to whom you can give commands, which adds a strategic component.
Soldiers can even be improved, which makes it quite frustrating to lose a good fighter from the squad during a battle. Enlisted is supposed to feel like a kind of Battlefield as an MMO.
What do the testers say? Although players could only play for one day, testers gained a good insight into the MMO shooter.
The first test went quite well, there were no complaints about the performance. However, minor technical issues like graphical errors and AI glitches occurred.
Testers say:
- The battles are very intense, partly due to the high speed and atmosphere. Watching videos from the test, one feels immediately transported into a movie about World War II.
- Up to 140 players fight each other on foot or with tanks, leading to constant exchanges of fire. Every hit can be fatal.
- Especially in the trenches, an enemy can lurk around every corner, making movement there very intense.
- Saltysiege97 says on Reddit: “Although I had a bad PC, I had a great time during my first match. They could fix some models and eliminate glitches, but besides that, the game is quite good.”
- USBattleSteed explains on Reddit: “For a game that just launched the playtest yesterday, it runs incredibly well. I’m honestly impressed by the graphical details and the smooth gameplay. The gameplay is extremely fast and feels more like Call of Duty.”
Enlisted very realistic, less brutal
As for brutality, Enlisted is not bloodier than most other shooters. However, the game plays very intensely, as basically every hit can be fatal, which makes players more cautious. One also sees the brutality of war in how quickly a squad can be decimated. So don’t be surprised if most players are gone and have to respawn within a few minutes.
The weapons feel, according to the first reports, very good, the aiming seems realistic and in general, one has the feeling of being right in the middle of a battle from World War II while playing Enlisted.
At the moment, it is still unclear when Enlisted will officially launch or when the next public test will take place. However, if you’re looking for a new multiplayer shooter, you can choose one from this list of the top eleven games of the year.
