On December 30, the last Spotlight Hour of the year kicks off in Pokémon GO. What is in store?
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The Spotlight Hour begins on December 30 at 6:00 PM. From then on, you have until 7:00 PM to secure the Pokémon of the day.
Which Pokémon will appear? The featured Pokémon is Botogel. The Messenger Bird is an Ice and Flying type and does not have an evolution.
What bonus does the hour bring? You receive double Stardust for each Pokémon you catch.
Can Botogel be shiny? Yes, there is also a shiny Botogel. However, the rate for that is not increased.
Is Botogel worth it during the Spotlight Hour?
How strong is Botogel? Unfortunately, not strong at all. The little bird loves to give gifts, but regrettably, it also does so in battle. You shouldn’t rely on Botogel as an attacker, neither in the PvP League nor in Raids or Gyms. There are much better candidates in the list of strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO.
Is it worth it anyway? For shiny hunters, Botogel might still be interesting, as it has a very striking color pattern as a shiny Pokémon. The shiny rate is not increased, but many Botogel will appear – maybe you will get lucky!
Is the bonus worth it? The Stardust bonus per catch is always useful, as you can always use this resource in Pokémon GO, whether for leveling or learning moves. If you use a Star Piece, you get an additional half of the Stardust on top.
