For days now, parts of the community have been discussing whether Monster Hunter Wilds might be too easy. Now, various players’ experiences show that hunting monsters is far from a walk in the park for everyone.
Is Monster Hunter Wilds too easy? Exactly that is what parts of the community have been discussing for some time now. The starting point for this was, on the one hand, the experiences with the quasi-predecessor Monster Hunter World – which came across as significantly more accessible than previous parts. On the other hand, some reviews criticized the relatively easy difficulty level of Wilds.
And what are players’ experiences with the live version of Monster Hunter Wilds now? Well, just a few hours ago, for example, a post by PiFbg went live on Reddit, complaining: “‘The game is too easy.’ Please tell me I’m not the only one getting wrecked by ‘the thing with the 6 tentacles.’”
By the thing with the 6 tentacles, he certainly means Nu Udra, the Black Flame, which you can challenge in the Oil Spring Basin. You can read where to find and defeat the Black Flame directly on MeinMMO.
PiFbg explains in his post, by the way, that he would be facing the monsters so far without his Palico or support from other hunters. “Nu Udra would literally wipe the floor with him.”

- Cerok1nk had bad news for PiFbg on Reddit: “Wait until you meet the Michael Bay Rathalos, who goes into Enrage three times in a row; the monster thinks it’s Goku or something.”
- Mnawab finds Wilds much easier than Worlds (via Reddit): “I wasn’t particularly good at World, but I’m wrecking Wilds. Focus Mode and Focus Slash make it too easy now, lol. But who knows, I’m not at the endgame yet.”
