Since the launch of Genshin Impact, many players have been dissatisfied with the resin system. A new pass for daily bonus resin briefly appeared in the Chinese PSN. What is it all about?
Although Genshin Impact is a free-to-play game, it features various microtransaction options to finance itself. This includes the Battle Pass and the Moonlight Blessing, which grant players certain bonuses for an additional fee.
A new type of pass for Genshin Impact briefly appeared in the Chinese PlayStation Store, referring to the original resin.
What kind of pass is this? The pass is said to be similar to the Moonlight Blessing. According to descriptions in the Chinese store, players can purchase it for 30 Yuan (approximately €3.83) and receive resin bonuses in return.
According to the description, the pass is supposed to work like this:
- Players receive 60 resin upon purchase
- Each day, the pass grants an additional 40 resin as a bonus
- The pass cannot be purchased if one possesses more than 1940 resin (in the form of usable items in the inventory)
- There is supposed to be a monthly and a weekly pass
However, the pass was quickly removed from the store. The corresponding page has been taken down, and an error message appears when you click on the link.
It is therefore possible that the pass was released too early in the PSN store and was not supposed to appear yet. It is also possible that the system will undergo changes before the release, if it does indeed come to fruition.
The enthusiasm is limited
This is what part of the community says: Many players who noticed the brief appearance of a “resin pass” in the Chinese PSN were not very fond of the idea.
The resin system is not very popular among Genshin Impact players and has already drawn criticism of the developer miHoYo in the past. There are regularly new threads in the official game forums with complaints about the system’s limitations.
A solution that requires players to pay more money to access additional resin has understandably not been well received by parts of the community:
Hahahaha […], instead of solving the problem, they are charging money for a crutch.

5 dollars for an additional 5 minutes of gameplay. Wow.

In the reddit thread on the topic, many players posted annoyed or cynical comments about the pass. And the mood was also rather negative under the Twitter posts.
Comments like “Is this a joke?” or “Please don’t be real” circulated.
However, there were also players who expressed support for the potential pass, stating that they would pay for such a system.
Whether the pass is an attempt by miHoYo to address the issue is unclear. However, it is quite possible that we will hear more about it in the future.
What about you? Would you pay money for a “resin pass”? Let us know in the comments.
In February, the update 1.3, which already has leaks, is first on the agenda.
