PvP will change with Battle for Azeroth. Because even in World of Warcraft, bounties will soon be placed on particularly nasty gankers.
With the upcoming expansion Battle for Azeroth, PvP in World of Warcraft will be completely overhauled. There will no longer be PvP servers; instead, players must willingly choose a “War Mode” beforehand. They will then be transported to their own phase of the game world populated only by other PvP fans. This ensures that action can await around every corner and skirmishes are on the horizon.
However, the PvP battles do not simply work on the principle of “PvP on and go”, but there are specific rules, bonuses, and restrictions that Blizzard has now introduced.
Bounty and PvP Talents as Additional Gameplay Elements
Permanent PvP Talents: As long as War Mode is active (i.e., PvP on), the PvP talents are permanently active, even if one is only fighting creatures in PvE because there are no hostile players present. Without opponents, it is easier to get through the quests. Here, we show how the PvP talent system will look.
Equipment scaling: Equipment in PvP mode scales; the stats are adjusted. Although the PvP templates of the battlefields will not be used, they still want to ensure more fairness. Better equipment should still provide an advantage, but it should not be so great.
Conquest: For participating in PvP activities, you will earn Conquest Points in Battle for Azeroth. These are available not only for rated battlegrounds but also for activities in world PvP. Each week, you must fill a bar with “Conquest Points” to receive a weekly reward item.
Bounty: Those who gather a particularly large number of Conquest Points in world PvP might soon receive a warning, as the opposing faction can place a bounty on you. When this happens, all opposing players receive a notification, and a reward for the death of the respective character is also displayed on the map.
By the way, PvP Prestige will be account-wide with Battle for Azeroth!
Apart from that, there are supposed to be “two more PvP features” that they do not yet want to talk about. It seems that Blizzard still has a few more surprises for PvP players up its sleeve to keep War Mode exciting.
Are you looking forward to War Mode and will you activate it? Or will you stay all the time in the PvE version of Azeroth?
