In World of Warcraft, you currently have an increased chance to obtain some of the rarest mounts. To do this, you need to play some very easy content.
Some mounts in World of Warcraft are rare and sought after – especially Arthas’s mount, the winged horse “Invincible”, which still captivates players after many years and is among the rarest in the game. Until Tuesday, October 15, you have a bonus chance to obtain this mount or alternatively Mimiron’s Head. All you need to do is complete a quest and defeat a single boss – as part of the current Timewalking event.
Where can you find the quest? You can accept the mission in Dalaran – specifically the “old” Dalaran in Northrend. There you will find the dwarf lady “Vormu” (a dragon in disguise) in the middle of the central square. Here you can accept the quest “Disturbance Detected: Ulduar”.
What do you have to do for the quest? To successfully complete the quest, you need to clear the raid Ulduar and loot a quest item from the final boss Yogg-Saron. Once you have achieved this, you can pick up your reward box, which contains not only a heroic piece of gear but also an increased chance for one of the coveted mounts.
It is important that the character has already reached level 80 when you accept the quest. Only then do you stand a chance of receiving the coveted mounts in the box. Otherwise, you will only receive the usual tokens for timewalking.
You cannot manually enter the raid on-site but must start the timewalking directly with Vormu. Once you have gathered a group – or joined one – the raid leader must speak to Vormu again and choose the option to be sent to Ulduar.
Additionally, note that for the quest, it is only necessary to defeat the final boss Yogg-Saron in the timewalking variant. Often, you can find “skip groups” in the group finder that only want to defeat the final boss. While the entire raid is not particularly difficult, those who want to be especially quick should simply join one of these skip groups.
What is the actual chance? An exact drop chance is not known; however, it seems that the chance in the box is significantly higher than simply defeating the respective raid boss. Whenever the event takes place, many players in the WoW subreddit show that they have received both mounts in some cases. So, if you want a nice bonus chance to snag some of the most famous and sought-after mounts in the history of World of Warcraft, you should take the opportunity now.
Five other stylish mounts from The War Within are significantly easier to farm.
