Pokémon GO grants you a research task where you need to complete different tasks than usual. The community is thrilled.
On the upcoming Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM the next Dynamax Battle Day in Pokémon GO takes place. You will be able to challenge Deponitox, the Poison-type Pokémon from Generation 5, in its Gigantamax form for the first time.
As preparation, there is a free, limited-time research in Pokémon GO that has been active in the game since October 27, 2025, at 6:00 AM. This includes a change regarding the tasks for the first time. This is welcomed in the community.

What kind of research is this? As usual with the debut of Gigantamax bosses, there is a free, limited-time research available in advance where you can receive a fighter that is strong against the new boss. You have until the event starts on November 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM to complete it. Among other rewards, you will receive a Rotomurf in its Dynamax form.
You can also obtain corresponding candies in regular and XL variants here, as well as some stardust and Dynamax particles.
What is this change? Previously, it was always necessary to complete different tasks in these research missions to receive all rewards. This included unlocking a Dynamax move as well as 3 level-ups for Dynamax moves. For this, you needed Dyna particles.
The current version of the research instead features modified tasks. If you want to receive all the research rewards now, you only need to win 5 Dynamax battles. This means you no longer have to use valuable Dyna particles to complete the research.
