In Pokémon GO, a new Remote Raid Pass was introduced today, April 27. With this, you can finally participate in raids without having to leave your home.
What is this feature? In the Pokémon GO shop, there is currently a special box that you can buy for 1 coin. This box contains 3 Remote Raid Passes, which allow you to complete raids in your vicinity.
This feature has been desired multiple times since the restrictions caused by the coronavirus and has already appeared in leaks.
Niantic has already made various changes so you can play Pokémon GO better from home. This is now another useful addition.
Who can use the passes? Initially, the new feature was only available to players at level 40. Gradually, the level requirements were lowered and finally reached level 5.
What is the range? With the new pass, you can interact with all raids that are in the Nearby list. You do not have to walk to the corresponding location.
However, you cannot access raids that are further away than your displayed range.
What other limitations are there? Those participating in a raid from a distance will deal reduced damage with their Pokémon. At the beginning of the feature, this limitation should not apply yet. It will be introduced over time.
Additionally, only a limited number of players can be in the raid lobby from a distance.
Are there further changes for playing from home? To allow you to play even more effectively from home in the future, further changes are planned, including new field research tasks that can be completed without visiting PokéStops.
Additionally, your buddy will bring you gifts in the future, so you won’t have to leave your home for that either.
