Pokémon GO celebrates the release of a new game. And brings you some strong attacks that you shouldn’t miss.
On October 16, 2025, the latest installment of the Pokémon games, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, will launch. To celebrate the day, there will be a special event in Pokémon GO. It is called “Event Celebrating Pokémon Legends: Z-A” and will take place from Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM to Monday, October 20, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
Included are some exclusive attacks, more raids, and a limited-time research task. We’ve summarized what you can expect.
All Event Content
Which Pokémon are in the event? As of now, there are no special monsters in the wild during the event. However, you will receive a limited-time research task where you must choose between Chikorita, Totodile*, and Tepig*.
If you complete the research, you will receive the corresponding Pokémon with a special background as well as experience points, candies, and a Knursp. All three monsters can also appear as Shiny. The monster you choose will appear more frequently when using the daily adventure incense.
What exclusive attacks are there? If you evolve Bayleef into Meganium during the event, it will learn the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant. If you obtain a Feraligatr by evolving Croconaw, it will know the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. Emboar, which you evolve during the event, learns Blast Burn.
Moreover, it is possible to teach existing specimens of Meganium, Feraligatr, and Emboar the corresponding Charged Attacks. To do this, you simply need to use a basic Charged TM. Normally, you would have to use the rare Charged TMs.
What bonuses are there in the event? The number of Mega Raids that appear in the game is increased during the event.
What avatar items are there? Both during and after the event, you can receive the following accessories for your avatar for free in the in-game shop:
- Lumiose City Outfit (Fitted)
- Lumiose City Hat (Black)
- Lumiose City Shoes (Red)
- Lumiose City Outfit (Relaxed)
- Lumiose City Hat (White)
- Lumiose City Shoes (Blue)
