For the Christmas season, Overwatch is again giving away loot boxes for all active players in 2018. All you have to do is log in. But hurry, the event won’t last forever.
What is there to win? In Overwatch, there are currently five winter wonderland loot boxes available for free. You just need to log in and you will receive the event loot boxes credited to your account. There was also a gift promotion with loot boxes in 2017.
The promotion started with the Christmas stream 2018, featuring various personalities from Overwatch sitting by a crackling campfire. An end date has not yet been revealed, but the event will likely last until the end of the winter wonderland on January 2, 2019. So you should hurry.
Winter Wonderland 2018 Free Loot Boxes
What’s in the loot boxes? In the event loot boxes of the winter wonderland 2018, various new cosmetics await you. Alone in 2018 there are seven new legendary and epic skins for Junkrat, Lúcio, Symmetra, Mercy, Widowmaker, Bastion, and Zarya.
In addition, Overwatch brought many new emotes, victory poses, highlight intros, and other cosmetic items, including a hint at the jetpack cat. You also have a chance to receive items from past years’ events:

- These were the skins from the winter wonderland 2016
Each loot box is guaranteed to contain at least one item from the winter wonderland. Other items, like those found in normal loot boxes, may also appear.
What is the winter wonderland 2018? The winter wonderland is Overwatch’s annual Christmas event. During the event, there are special event cosmetics that can only be obtained for a limited time through the event loot boxes or purchased with credits.
You can earn loot boxes by leveling up in all match types or in the event modes of the winter wonderland, Meis Yetijagd and the snowball fight.
