The Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World is finally here. And while many players are still trudging through the deep snow of the Frostfang Highlands, others are already having fun with one of the new features of the addon: Your Palicos now mimic your dances and emotes.
This is the feature: In Iceborne, the new expansion for Monster Hunter World, some new features and improvements have been introduced. Aside from some changes that make life in Monster Hunter World more enjoyable for newcomers and veterans, there is a feature that very few hunters expected.
Because your Palicos now do everything you instruct them to: They dance and even take on your emotes.
This is what the Palicos do: On the MHW subreddit and on YouTube, players show what dancing with the Palicos looks like. In one clip, two players dance with their feline companions in a Hawaiian hula. Especially cute: One of the Palicos wears the armor of Xeno’jiiva and its dress sways with each movement.

A hunter and his companion show a quicker footwork in a YouTube video. The duo demonstrates that the dances and emotes also work with the different armors and costumes of the Palico. In the clip, the Palico wears the somewhat disturbing Nekker armor, which is part of the collaboration between Monster Hunter World and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
What the players say: The new feature is very well received by players. Some report that they have already spent hours trying out dances and emotes with their Palico. One player writes that no one wished for this, and yet it is the best feature in Iceborne.
Other players predict that there will probably be more dance parties in the Gathering Hub now.
However, most of the PC players of Monster Hunter World are suffering from the cute pictures: They have to wait until January 2020 to play Iceborne and dance with their Palicos.
