I just changed the eye from red to blue.
Why was the AI changed? In the film, the AI is often portrayed on screens as a kind of blue eye. However, originally, the AI was red. This resembled too closely the main villain from The Lord of the Rings. Christopher McQuarrie, the film’s director, had to change the color afterward.
The graphics of the entity were initially red. And I gave it this twitching eye movement. At an earlier screening with friends and family, people said, “That’s like the eye of Sauron in Lord of the Rings.” Well, no, it’s not, because the eye of Sauron does not move. In my mind’s eye, it was extremely static.

Although he perceived his eye differently than Sauron, he ultimately changed the eye from red to blue. After looking at Sauron again, he recognized the similarity. I just changed the eye from red to blue.
